Lloyd Alexander (1924-2007)

Lloyd Alexander was born in Philadelphia. He served in the army during World War II. He is the author of over 40 fantasy books for children and young adults. Alexander won the Newbery Medal for The High King, the final volume in his series, The Prydain Chronicles in 1969. He is the author of The Black Cauldron; The Remarkable Journey of Prince Jen; Westmark; The Iron Ring; The Kestral; Time Cat; The King's Fountain; Book of Three; The Arkadians; and The High King.
