Beyond its award-winning local and national television programs, New Hampshire Public Television is a leader in education and community outreach.

NHPTV provides instructional services for 206,000 students from kindergarten through high school; offers Ready to Learn programs and services for children preschool to age 8, parents, and early education professionals; and provides professional development programs and advanced technology training for educators in New Hampshire and neighboring states.

Our mission is to serve the public interest through education, culture and citizenship. Our logo represents the very people who make up New Hampshire Public Television - our viewers and supporters.

We share the traditions and values that make New Hampshire special: individuality, responsibility and a strong sense of community. We choose our programs based on viewer response, so please let us know what you want to see. us with your ideas and comments.

NHPTV has been a state and regional resource for education, cultural enrichment and citizenship since 1959. The state's only PBS members station reaches about 500,000 families each week. We broadcast more than 7,000 hours of programming a year, including award-winning locally produced television shows and acclaimed PBS series and specials.

PBS Favorites

We air PBS favorites like NOVA, NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, Antiques Roadshow, Frontline, Masterpiece Theatre and American Experience

Award-Winning Local Programs

NHPTV local productions are regularly recognized for outstanding content and production, winning over 140 regional or national awards in the past five years for programs such as NH Outlook, Wildlife Journal, Granite State Challenge, UNH Hockey, and New Hampshire Crossroads Classics.

Renowned Children's Programs

NHPTV offers children a non-commercial safe place to go for enrichment and entertainment. We air more than 55 hours of renowned and trusted children's programming weekly, including award-winning shows like Sesame Street, Arthur, Clifford and Maya and Miguel.

Community Partnerships

NHPTV extends the impact of its programming with projects that combine broadcast media, education, community outreach partnerships, and online resources to increase public awareness and engagement. Such projects include “Seeing Seniors: The Future of Aging in NH and LiveFIT NH initiative developed with 16 state partner organizations to address health concerns with an informative and appealing approach.

Because Knowledge Makes a Difference

NHPTV's Knowledge Network offers a variety of outstanding, media-rich programs, services and resources to students, educators and learners of all ages, reaching more than 470 public schools statewide. Our Ready To Learn program provides more than 15,000 new books each year at no charge to children across the Granite State, hosts a variety of free parenting workshops throughout the year, and maintains a comprehensive website for parents, teachers, caregivers and students throughout Northern New England.

On the Technology Forefront

NHPTV uses state-of-the-art digital technology to provide high-quality broadcasts, as well as webcasts, digital conferencing and instructional technology. NHPTV will soon begin producing wide-screen and high-definition local programs (16 x 9) that will enable it to offer expanded content for its high-definition channels. Additionally, using its data transmission capabilities, NHPTV is participating in a law enforcement pilot project to convey important information to police vehicles.
