Outreach efforts complement and enhance our broadcast programs, address identified community needs, and are designed to engage individuals and foster community participation to raise awareness and effect change. These focused activities and events reflect our responsibility as a member of the media to serve the public interest.

While engagement takes many forms, the goal is always to get our audience involved. From something as personal as the power of conversation to high tech digital delivery systems, NHPTV goes beyond the broadcast to find new and innovative ways to connect with communities and “turn viewers into doers”!

In this section of the NHPTV.org site, you can learn more about how NHPTV programs contribute to the community, outreach events and activities, related available resources, and information about the community and national organizations we partner with.

"Public media’s home is not in the negative space of being what commercial media isn’t; rather, it lives in the light to make people’s lives better. It is that simple."
