Sometimes it seems like we spend more time in the dark in the winter than in the light!
Here are some activities that can make the dark and nighttime routines a bit easier and much more fun for your family.
The dark can be mysterious and scary, but using it to create fun activities can take a lot of the anxiety away. There are times when some games are best when it's dark out. Have you ever made shadow puppets? You need a dark room, a wall, a flashlight, and a friend to keep the light steady. Have someone stand behind you with a flashlight while in a dark room. Do you see your shadow? Move around and notice how your shadow moves. Can you find shadows of other things in the room? Do things look different than their shadows? Use your fingers to make different shapes and letters. Turn it into a game by having your friend guess the shapes or letters that you are creating. Be sure to take turns!
