Fall Foliage

Fire Safety Fall marks the change of many things, including the foliage, or leaves, on many of the trees in New Hampshire.

The changes are so dramatic and unique that Fall foliage in New Hampshire has been referred to as "natural fireworks."

Explore the science and art that goes on in your backyard every Fall!

Create a Mobile

MobileFirst you will need leaves, wax paper, newspaper, string, and an iron. Go on a walk and collect several brightly colored leaves. When you return home, lightly clean and dry the leaves. Next, cover both sides with wax paper. Place the wax paper and leaves on an ironing board. Put a piece of newspaper on the top and iron it on low. The clear wax paper should seal the colorful leaf. Continue this process until the desired amount of leaves are pressed. Attach the leaves to a clothes hanger or stick using string.
