gardeningApril is the perfect time to begin thinking about planning a garden. Children love to plant things and watch them grow! Gardening teaches children responsibility, gives them a greater appreciation of nature, and it's loads of fun!

Plant a Pizza Garden!
Materials:
1-2 roma tomato plant
2-3 green pepper plant
10-12 seed onions
2-3 parsley plants
2-3 basil plants
pine needles or straw for mulch
planting are around 8 feet in diameter with good soil and plenty of sun!

Many of the ingredients for pizza toppings grow under similar conditions! You can plant roma tomatoes, green peppers, onions, oregano, parsley, and basil in an area with good soil and plenty of sun.

You can even create a circle planting area and divide it into slices for each of the ingredients! After you plant you pizza garden water well and cover with mulch made of pine needles or straw - it looks like cheese! It should take around two months for your pizza toppings to be ready!
