Music is all around us, and it is sometimes found in unusual places. Bird songs, the rhythmic pounding of a hammer, the humming of your refrigerator, the dripping of a faucet, the honking a car horn. All of these are examples of "music" in your everyday life.
Talk with your child about their own heritage and culture. Share family stories, traditions, and photographs with your child that highlight their cultural heritage.
Look for cultural organizations holding events in your community and invite family or friends to share their cultural heritage with a game, song, dance, or greeting specific to their country or culture.

Levar visits Dominic Arquero, a Native America painter who lives in a pueblo in New Mexico. Dolly Naranjo, with her daughter and mother, show how they make traditional pottery from mixing clay and shaping pots to finishing them.
