Thyropteridae - disc-winged bats

There are 2 species of in this family, Peter's disk-winged bat and Spix's disk-winged bat. They are found in Central and South America. They have suction cups on their front and hind limbs that they use to cling to and roost in curled up leaves, especially banana or heliconia leaves! They have large ears; a small, slender snout, and no noseleaf.
