Tenrecidae - tenrecs

tenrecThere are 24 species in this family. Tenrecs are found in Madagascar and western Africa. Tenrecs come in a variety of shapes! Some look like mice or shrews, others look like hedgehogs, and some even look like muskrats, otters and opossums! They are found in a variety of habitats including deserts and forests. Most species eat insects and are nocturnal .
