Abrocomidae - chinchilla rats

There are three species in this family. Chinchilla rats are found in the Andes Mountains in South America. They have thick, long, soft fur; mouse-like bodies, long, fur-covered tails; and round ears. Not including their tails, they are about five-nine inches long.
