In 1978, the first series of ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL, the television adaptation of James Herriott's beloved books about the trials and misadventures of a country veterinary office in 1940's Yorkshire, England, debuted on the BBC. A year later, Eastern Educational Network (now known as American Public Television) introduced the series to public television in America and it quickly became "must see" TV. It remains a timeless television classic to this day. Looking toward the 30th anniversary of this beloved series, viewers can once again experience life in the Yorkshire Dales from the later sequence of Herriott's writings, savoring these engaging stories set at the beginnings of scientific veterinary medicine.
