CaillouCaillou

Growing up is not so tough - especially with a friend like Caillou, a lovable four-year-old who has a unique way of relating to the world. Based on a series of best-selling Canadian children's books, CAILLOU demonstrates how the first experiences of life, from going to the park to understanding one's own family, can be perceived with wonder and a sense of discovery.

August

8/1 Caillou the Magnificent (Show 308)
Caillou is having trouble deciding whether to take Rexie, his kite, or his toy fire truck to school for Show and Tell. Then Rosie shows how good she is at surprising people, and he decides to take his little sister instead. Later, Grandma shows Caillou a simple magic trick, and he decides to become a magician.

8/4 Caillou the Explorer (Show 309)
Caillou imagines himself playing with penguins at the South Pole and searching for alligators in a bayou. After pretending to be a tiny deep-sea diver swimming in the fishtank, he discovers that a new girl in school knows a lot about fish.

8/5 Caillou the Scientist (Show 310)
Caillou plays with the fridge magnets, helps Daddy retrieve a metal peg from behind the workbench, visits the natural history museum to look at dinosaurs, and imagines what it would be like to zoom around the galaxy exploring stars and planets.

8/6 Caillou the Bookworm (Show 311)
Caillou and Rosie visit the library, and Caillou brings home a pirate book to read. At school, he makes up a funny story about a superhero, and Miss Martin suggests that he create his own storybook.

8/7 Caillou the Artiste (Show 312)
Caillou makes Mommy a picture of the sun to cheer her up after her car gets stuck in the snow. Jeffrey and Jason come for dinner and opt for unique ingredients when making their own pizzas. And a brand-new painting shirt inspires Caillou to paint something for Grandma.

8/8 Captain Caillou (Show 313)
After Grandpa surprises him with a remote-control sailboat, Caillou imagines himself as captain of the fastest sailboat ever. Mommy sends him to play outside because he's making too much noise, and Caillou notices all the loud sounds outside, especially Daddy's lawnmower and the recycling truck. Daddy and Mommy's friend Jonas is getting married, with Caillou as ringbearer and Rosie as flowergirl.

8/11 Caillou Outdoors! (Show 315)
Birds keep eating the seeds in Mommy and Caillou's newly planted garden, so they decide to make a scarecrow. Caillou meets a visitor who has Down syndrome and helps him navigate the school playground.

8/12 Caillou's Surprise (Show 316)
Caillou accidentally breaks Mommy's favorite cup, and Grandma suggests they make her a new one. Caillou tries to think of something special to do for Miss Martin's birthday, and he and Sarah turn a power outage into a fun adventure.

8/13 Caillou the Helper (Show 317)
While pretending to be a jet pilot, Caillou falls down and scrapes his knees. The traffic lights near school stop working, so a policeman comes to direct traffic. Grandpa takes Caillou to the park to meet his friend George, who tells funny stories about when he and Grandpa were young.

8/14 Caillou Can Do It! (Show 320)
Grandma shows Caillou how to make fruit juice from scratch, Caillou and his friends Jason and Jeffrey put on a puppet show at playschool, and Grandpa introduces Caillou to a new hobby: rock collecting.

8/15 Starry Night (Show 401)
A family corn roast under the star-studded sky prompts Grandpa to bring out his telescope and introduce Caillou to the moon, the planets, and the constellations.

8/18 Lost and Found (Show 402)
Caillou loses his voice and has to find other ways to communicate. While searching for a missing sock, Caillou accidentally locks himself in the basement. Daddy comes to the rescue—and locks himself in, too.

8/19 Just for Laughs (Show 403)
Seeing Bravo the magician at a friend's birthday party inspires Caillou to become Caillou the Great and put on a magic show. He plays the clown for a wary Rosie, who's afraid of clowns until Caillou shows her they're just people wearing silly costumes.

8/20 Caillou Helps Out (Show 404)
Caillou is wishing for a hamster of his own. But then he gets the chance to babysit Leo's and realizes how much hard work having a hamster can be—especially with Gilbert around!

8/21 Imagine! (Show 405)
Caillou discovers how using his imagination can make ordinary things fun. Unable to fly his kite on a windless day, he stares at the clouds and sees wagons, balloons, and dinosaurs.

8/22 Words (Show 406)
Wind and a very mischievous cat interfere with Caillou's attempts to read the weekend paper, but patience and persistence finally win out. Upset because the mailman brings only bills, Mommy tells Caillou how nice it would be to get a letter for a change.

8/25 I Can Do It! (Show 407)
To prove that he's ready to help Dad paint the porch, Caillou paints Rosie's dollhouse first. Even Gilbert helps out with paint-dipped paws.

8/26 My Family (Show 408)
Today Caillou learns that being a part of a family is something very special. Dad lends Caillou his old camera and helps him take pictures of every member of their family - including Gilbert.

8/27 Winter (Show 409)
Sarah teaches Caillou to build a snowman and Dad helps him stay upright on his ice skates.

8/28 After Dark (Show 410)
Caillou can't fall asleep when he hears scary "scratchy monster" noises and has a bad dream.

8/29 Nature (Show 411)
Grandma introduces Caillou to the many birds that live in the park and gives him a birdhouse for his own backyard. Caillou pretends to be a jungle explorer hunting big game in the garden, then goes camping with his family in the woods.

Knowing I'm Growing (Show 412)
Caillou's feet are growing, so Mommy takes him to the store to get a new pair of shoes. Having outgrown his favorite shirt, Caillou gives it to his favorite teddy bear to wear.
