Thirteenth Annual Reading Rainbow Contest

Holding On

I'm in the middle of the ocean
Our ship is starting to sink
I'm trying to hold on to the bowsprit
My heart is pumping at the speed of light
I'm getting weaker and weaker
By the second
I'm straining to hold on
I feel so lightheaded
It feels like a ninety-pound weight
Dropped on my head
