Who Has Seen The Wind?

Video Cover for Who Has Seen The Wind?

Have you seen the wind?
To see the wind, you must look at what it touches.
From a looming mountain range to a field of corn, the wind touches everything and everyone.

What is this unseen force -- at once gentle and ferocious? The air currents are on a journey, as are we. On our journey, meteorologist Dave Thurlow seeks out some of the people who have truly seen the wind. Some explore new ways to measure the wind with instruments of science; others work to harness its energy; and some celebrate the beauty and physical power of the wind.

Host Dave Thurlow is the creator and host of The Weather Notebook, a syndicated daily program heard throughout the nation on more than 200 public radio stations. He is a meteorologist and has worked for many years with the Mount Washington Observatory

Available in VHS format for $19.95, this NHPTV special is approximately 1 hour long and was nominated in three categories for the (2001) 24th Boston/New England Emmy Awards:

  • Program Writing - Richard Ager, Writer/Producer

  • Program Videography - Steve Giordani, Videographer

  • Best Documentary - Richard Ager, Producer; Dave Thurlow, Host; Steve Giordani, Videographer/Editor; Ron Goodwin, Editor
