Mark Collin Elected Chair of NHPTV Board of Directors

(DURHAM, October 16, 2009) – Mark Collin of N. Hampton has been elected chair of New Hampshire Public Television’s Board of Directors for 2009-10. Collin is senior vice president, CFO and treasurer of Unitil Corp. Steven Albrecht, CEO of Charter Trust Company, is the Board’s new vice chair; Richard Maloney, president of Maloney & Kennedy, PLLC, is board treasurer; Ronald Abramson, of counsel at McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, will serve as secretary. Marjorie Chiafery, immediate past chair and superintendent of the Merrimack School District, will continue to serve on the Board. 

“It is my privilege to serve NHPTV as it enters its 51st year of service to our state and region,” Collin said. “Our Board and staff are committed to keeping NHPTV’s programs and services strong for Northern New England.”

Also, Lois Haskins of LGH Consulting and Angela Irons of the Lincoln Financial Group have joined the Board. Haskins, who lives in Hancock, specializes in providing operational and financial tools, analysis, reporting and management advice for small enterprise. Irons lives in Weare, and is assistant vice president for distribution at Lincoln Financial Group. And, George Epstein of Madison has joined the Board as a representative of the University System of New Hampshire.

Peter A. Frid has been NHPTV’s president and CEO since 1996. He also serves on the PBS Board of Directors. New Hampshire Public Television has been a state and regional resource for cultural enrichment and education since 1959. NHPTV is the state's only locally owned and operated television station and its only PBS member station.  Reaching nearly 500,000 households each week, NHPTV broadcasts more than 7,000 hours of programming a year, including award-winning locally produced television shows and acclaimed PBS series and specials.
