Our Hometown: Wolfeboro Premieres April 13 at 8PM

Stories About Wolfeboro, Told by Those Who Know Their Town

(DURHAM, April 5, 2017) — The town of Wolfeboro is featured in the newest episode of New Hampshire Public Television’s OUR HOMETOWN series.  This show features stories told by those who live in, love and know their town. OUR HOMETOWN: WOLFEBORO delves into the history of this Carroll County town that is perhaps best known for its downtown that hugs the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee.

Residents living in America's “oldest summer resort” town tell Wolfeboro's history and daily life.  The show recounts stories about a baker with heart, a town that springs up on the ice, NH's first female State Park Manager, an artist whose childhood love of rocks shapes her future, a longtime local business that puts families first and the man the town is named after, English General James Wolfe.

The stories generously told for OUR HOMETOWN shed light on Wolfeboro's past and present. While it was not possible to include all 43 stories in the 30-minute program, everyone's story will be showcased online at nhptv.org/hometown, creating a historical archive of life in Wolfeboro.

Produced in partnership with each community, OUR HOMETOWN engages residents and businesses in telling their stories, which are then recorded and edited into a 30-minute television program for New Hampshire's PBS station. All stories, as well as the full program, are available at nhptv.org/hometown. The series is hosted by New Hampshire author and storyteller, Rebecca Rule.

The OUR HOMETOWN series premiered in 2015 with a focus on Peterborough, followed by shows about Colebrook and Stratham. The series explores the vibrant culture, commerce, history and people of New Hampshire's towns and cities. Milford and Littleton will be the next towns featured in the series.

OUR HOMETOWN: WOLFEBORO premieres Thursday, April 13 at 8 p.m. on NHPTV PRIME with multiple airdates on PRIME and EXPLORE and online at video.nhptv.org
