NEW "OUR HOMETOWN" SERIES TO FEATURE PETERBOROUGH IN PROGRAM’S PREMIERE

Series Will Explore Culture, Commerce, History & People of NH's 221 Towns and 13 Cities

(DURHAM, September 29, 2014) — The essence of the Granite State’s cities and towns will be explored in New Hampshire Public Television’s new television series and community initiative, OUR HOMETOWN. The town of Peterborough will be featured in the OUR HOMETOWN series premiere in December on NHPTV.The OUR HOMETOWN series will explore the vibrant culture, commerce, history and people of New Hampshire's 221 towns and 13 cities. Produced in partnership with each community, NHPTV will engage residents in telling their stories, and these will be video-recorded and then edited into a 30-minute television program (also available online and on DVD). The series will be hosted by New Hampshire native, author and storyteller Rebecca Rule, who will guide community participants through the storytelling process. The Peterborough OUR HOMETOWN Storytelling Workshop will take place Thursday, October 2nd from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture, 19 Grove Street in Peterborough. After the workshop, participants will research and gather visual materials (photos, images, posters, graphics, video, documents, etc.) and sign up to be video-recorded sharing their stories. The Peterborough OUR HOMETOWN Production Day is scheduled for Saturday, October 25th at the Monadnock Center."Think of collecting all of your hometown's best stories and sealing them in a time capsule," explained Dawn DeAngelis, NHPTV Chief Content Officer, about the new TV series. "That's what we're trying to do with OUR HOMETOWN.
