Aired Wednesday, Sep 1, 2004
Watch Program Online using RealPlayer     18th Vice President Henry Wilson; Late Night Politics - NH Outlook

Henry Wilson
Many people know of NH's Franklin Pierce as the 14th president of the United States. Did you know, however, that NH also holds claim to a Vice President? He was born Jeremiah Jones Colbath in the town of Farmington. As a young man he changed his name to Henry Wilson and went on to become this country's 18th Vice President. Producer Phil Vaughn had the chance to talk with John Nolan, who has been working to bring the name of Henry Wilson out of obscurity.

Late Night Politics
Where do young people get their information about politics and politicians? It may not surprise you that the main source is late night entertainment television. But does this steady diet of Jay Leno, the Daily Show, David Letterman and Saturday Night Live make for an informed voter? We'll speak with Dr. Elizabeth Ossoff, Research Coordinator for the Jeanne D. Smith Center for the Study of American Democracy and Citizenship at St. Anselm College about her recent study and its implications for the upcoming election.
