Cleaning the Banks

Aired Sunday, Apr 12, 2009

Toxic Assets
There's a lot of talk in the news about "toxic assets." NH's Banking Commissioner Peter Hildreth explains what they are and how the U.S. Department of the Treasury plans to clean them from the nation's largest banks.

Climate Change
The Obama administration has promised to take action on climate change. Among the ideas being considered is cap and trade, a system in which existing power plants could pay for future rights to pollute. Climatologist Dr. James Hansen explains why he believes that would be a mistake.

Food Allergy
For most kids, a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk is a healthy snack. But, for a growing number of children with food allergies that snack could be fatal. NH Outlook's Richard Ager spoke with a leading allergist about treatments and then went food shopping with a local family whose child has a peanut allergy.
