Exploring the History of Independence Day
Aired Sunday, Jul 6, 2008
|
Host Beth Carroll takes us to Exeter, the colonial capital of New Hampshire. She tours the American Independence Museum which is dedicated to telling the story of the American Revolution and New Hampshire's role in the rebellion that helped found our nation.
Also in this program we'll explore the debate over when the American Revolution officially began. Until the winter of 1774 no American had engaged in an organized attack on British forces, but as NH Outlook's Richard Ager shows us, all that changed one day in Newcastle, New Hampshire.
Programming note:
Look for NH Outlook now at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays and 6:00 p.m. on Mondays.
