Grading School Lunches
Original Airdate: September 19, 2006According to the Centers for Disease Control, nearly 20% of school-aged Americans are overweight or obese. That number is almost four times what it was in the 1970's. In NH we don't keep close track of numbers but there are plenty of observations. We're seeing more children with Type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea and fatty liver. These diseases were rare to see in a child 20 years ago. Phil Vaughn shows us how many of NH's schools are now searching for ways to help change that.
