Symposium on the State of STEM in New Hampshire

Thursday, October 22, 2009

kidNHPTV and the Seacoast Science Center are hosting a one-day symposium on the state of STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) in New Hampshire at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH on Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Aimed at K-12 and post-secondary educators as well as business, industry, community, non-profit, and government leaders, the focus of this day-long event is to assess the current state of STEM in New Hampshire and discuss what can be done to improve STEM education.

This is an opportunity for various interest groups to talk with each other about what the current needs are for all the parties involved and what steps can be taken to ensure that New Hampshire is competitive in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology.

Lunch is included and participants will receive six credit hours.

The day will also include a live videoconference with the NASA Ames Research Center and a tour of the redesigned Seacoast Science Center.

Space is limited! You can register by calling 603-868-4354 or by email at know@nhptv.org

This event is part of NHPTV's MESY Initiative to promote the STEM subjects.
