New Hampshire Frameworks Correlations

Mars Express star star star star
Follow along as the Mars Express heads to the Red Planet. Launched by the European Space Agency, the Mars Express is scheduled to reach Mars in December of 2003. It will then eject the Beagle 2 lander which will gather scientific data and give folks the opportunity to say that the Beagle has landed!

  Curriculum Standard 4a
Students will demonstrate an increasing ability to understand that the Earth is a unique member of our solar system, located in a galaxy, within the universe.

Proficiency Standards
By the end of grade ten students will be able to:

  • Identify the other planets in the solar system on a diagram or in the night sky, and describe their motions, as well as the motion of the planetary moons and comets.


  • Describe the characteristics of Earth and other planets in the solar system in terms of their ability to support life.
