Joan AikenJoan Aiken was born in England. Her father was Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Conrad Aiken. She wrote for both children and adults. She was the author of Mortimer Says Nothing; Up the Chimney Down and Other Stories; The Wolves of Willoughby Chase; The Whispering Mountain; Black Hearts in Battersea; Nightbirds on Nantucket; and Night Fall.
