The Museum of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qingshihuang

In 1974, farmers drilling a well in Xi'an, China uncovered some pottery shards and bronze weapons. They had stumbled upon one of the most sensational archeological finds of the 20th century, part of the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, China's first Emperor. Archaeologists have since uncovered line after line of life-size statues of thousands of warriors in battle formation with their horses and chariots. This site includes images of some of these terracotta figures and articles about the site and the discovery of the figures.
