You'll find science and social studies lesson plans, video clips, images, animations, and other multimedia resources at this site from WGBH. Many of the resources at this site come from NOVA, American Experience, and other public television productions. You will find standards for each item selected as well as further information. In addition to content for the classroom, you will also find professional development opportunities. This is a free resource, but you will have to register.

Science Snacks
Check out these bite-size science exhibits and demonstrations that teachers can make using common, inexpensive, easily available materials. Covering a wide-variety of science topics, these exhibits were designed by the Exploratorium science museum in San Francisco with the help of classroom teachers.

Ology

PathFinder Science
This virtual community of teachers, students, and schools participates in collaborative research projects. Project include water conservation, bird surveys, stream monitoring, and amphibian biomonitering. You must register your classroom to participate, registration is free.

National Science Digital Ligrary

Scholastic Teacher Center
You will find a variety of science Websites covering diverse topics like dinosaurs, Ocean Life, and Weather at this site. You will also find lesson plans and classroom activities.

PBS Science and Nature
You will find links to resources from all of PBS science and nature shows here. Stop by the teacher section where you can search for lesson plans and activities by grade and topic and the ZOOMsci section with hands-on experiments for kids.

Discovery
You will find links to all of the Discovery Networks channels here including Animal Planet, the Discovery Channel and the Learning Channel. You will also find a link to Discovery Kids where you will find sections on dinosaurs, animals, and space.

You could spend all day here! You will find loads of science resources here from web cams to animal sounds interactive features. But wait, there's more! The BBC Schools section has interactive Website created specifically for use in the classroom. You can play games and take quizzes, get lesson plans and activities, and more. The site is organized so students can get the information they need to meet the National Science standards.

NASA Kids
Do you know what you weigh on Mars? Find out at this site for kids from NASA. You can also learn about rockets and airplanes, discover what its like to live in space, explore the solar system and beyond, or play some space games!

Windows to the Universe
This NASA-funded Earth and Space sciences site at the University of Michigan includes multimedia exhibits on the Earth, the Solar System, stars, space missions, and mythology; art, music, literature, mythology and film relating to space; images and biographies of scientists; news stories; a teacher's guide; and a "Kids Space" section. The content is presented at three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Hubble Site
See what is out at the outer edges of the Universe as seen though the lens of the Hubble Telescope. This site from NASA is full of images and includes news about Hubble, multimedia examinations of the science behind Hubble and what it sees out in the Universe, and games and activities.

Exploring the Environment
This site from NASA Classroom of the Future at Wheeling Jesuit University features interdisciplinary, problem-based learning modules for grades 5-12. Student work in teams and analyze remotely-sensed satellite images to solve real-world problems related to weather, population growth, biodiversity, land use patterns, volcanoes, water pollution, and global warming. K-4 Earth Science Modules
This site from NASA Classroom of the Future at Wheeling Jesuit University features teaching and learning modules for grades K-4 on biomes; weather, seasons, and climate; remote sensing; and Earth systems. You can play the weather game and see how much you know, learn about biomes in funworld, or play an Earth system card game.

Earth Net
This site from the Bedford Institute of Oceanography in Nova Scotia is designed to be a resource for teachers and students. You'll find a great overview of the Earth, minerals, rocks, volcanoes, and the elements as well as lesson plans and activities. You will also find a wealth of information about the geology of Canada.
