Mind On the Media
Who: Non-profit organization that works to raise public awareness about the negative effects of images in the media. 
What You'll Find: Currently focusing on a look at the media portrayal of of women in politics, but you will also find resources on body image.

Girls and Media
Who: Girls, Inc., national nonprofit youth organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

Girls, Women + Media Project
Who: Non-profit initiative and network working to increase awareness of how pop culture and media represent, affect, employ, and serve girls and women. The Project also seeks to educate and empower all consumers and citizens about consumer rights and responsibilities regarding the media, and to promote universal media literacy.

Influence of the Media on Teens watch

During a MediaSmart class at Manchester Child Health Services, participants deconstruct media and discuss the messages they discover. Rona Zlokower, director of the Media Literacy Program, discusses the impact that the media have on young adults. This program also features an in-depth discussion with teens at the Manchester YMCA-Teen Center.
