Endorsed by the National Science Teachers' Association, the JASON Project includes a standards-based curriculum ; award-winning Web site and an interactive, gated Web community with chats, message boards and digital labs, video supplements, and live broadcasts. Materials provided for each JASON Project teacher include the following:
- Getting Started - An online tutorial that provides teachers with simple steps to using the multimedia components and teacher resources.
- Teacher Edition - A complete print guide that serves as the cornerstone of JASON Expedition content: 200+ page curriculum tailored to the Expedition topic and mapped to major textbooks, and national and state standards.
- Student Activities Book - A standards-based student booklet complete with introductory material and research articles, hands-on and inquiry-based activities, and assessments.
- Introductory Video - A segmented video with background on the Expedition locale and directly aligned to the Expedition's unit content.
- Team JASON Online (TJO) - A password-protected website for JASON teachers and students that includes features like test generators, state standards correlations, web links, teacher resources, custom digital labs and lessons, research articles, chats and message boards.
- Expedition Broadcast - A live, week-long broadcast event that features JASON Expedition host researchers and Student and Teacher Argonauts on location at the research site, exploring the science content in a field setting. Thousands of students are able to participate as the Expedition is happening, through satellite and distance-learning technologies. A video of the broadcast is also available to participants. The live Jason Broadcast will air on New Hampshire Public Television twice daily January 30-February 4, 2006 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- JASON Expedition Updates - Through continued subscription to TJO, updates for Years 2 and 3 extend the life of the curriculum by adding new elements and following up with JASON Expedition host researchers as they continue their studies.
